What If (A CheshireRedArrow Drabble)

Jay couldn’t help but pace anxiously around the Gotham flat, he knew this wasn’t going to end well just like most of the family meetings before and this was going to be worse – it was both families, and if Olivia wasn’t bad enough – his mother had caught wind of this little get together and she was coming too. Watching his dad wheel out beside him he feels his father’s hand brush his arm, making him stop pacing. “It’s going to be alright? Right?” He had never been so nervous in his life and over what? They were already engaged and Olivia and his dad approved – what more could he possibly ask for? This was just so that everyone gets a chance to meet everyone else; hearing a knock at the door his heart leaped and quickly ran over, opening it he smiles and wraps his arms around the redhead tightly and carries her though the threshold. Her mother follows the two of them, shaking her head and hand laced with Dino’s greeting Paul the three of them make their way to the living room.

Carrying her to his old bedroom he drops her on his bed, smiling at the giggles that erupt from her and he kisses her forehead. Looking up at him she smiles and tugs him on the bed with her, laying her head on his chest she gently runs her hands over his chest, tracing patterns over the starched cloth, “It’s going to be okay Jay.” Nuzzling his neck she kisses along his jawline. “They can’t do anything, I love you and there’s nothing that your mother is going to say or do to break us apart.”

His eyes widened and he hovered over her once more “But what if” what if Ra’s came with her, what if she recalled the contract and he had to go back to work, but before he could voice any of those concerns he found her lips on his. His hands cup her face, he didn’t want to go out and face her – his past, what the two of them have worked so hard to repair. Pulling away from the kiss he looks at her, “Rory, please – what if Ra’s… What if she tries to take me away again?”

Laying on the bed she looks up at him fingers tracing the lines of his face, he had changed so much in all this time, “Jay, she’s your mother and even though she works for the Shadows she cares about you, she said herself she was disgusted with the way that Ra’s treated you. We have to trust her love – there isn’t really another option at this point.”

“I don’t want to lose you Rory, and I’m so scared that I’m going to.” Leaning down he nuzzles her chest, and smiles as her arms wrap around him and her hands run through his hair comfortingly.

Rory didn’t know what to say, her arms just wrapped even tighter around him trying to comfort him and let him know that she isn’t going to let him go. “You aren’t going to lose me, I promise.” Tilting his head up she kisses him again.

Hearing a knock at the door Apollo walks in and immediately covers his eyes, “Alright you two, whenever you feel like joining the rest of us you’re welcome to.”

Looking over at him Jay rolls his eyes and standing up he pulls Rory up and wraps an arm around his waist, “Grow up Paulie, we weren’t doing anything. We’ll be right out.” Looking at her he smiles and kisses the top of her head, and as Apollo walks out of the room he whispers, “Thank you Rory, for everything.”

Best Videogame Ever (A KidFlashRedArrow Drabble)

The sound of the PlayStation controller buttons being pressed and the lowered volume of the television were all that was heard in the flat the two redheads share. Willow sat perched on the edge of the couch, back utterly straight and eyes screwed to the television screen, her tongue stuck out slightly and although she would never admit it her fingers randomly smashing buttons as fast as the controller could take.

Lounging at the other end of the couch sat Rory, nose in a book she was attempting to ignore the random grunts and groans let out by the television as well as the redhead sitting not ten feet away, her foot twitching anxiously she bites her lip trying to keep from yelling. Hearing a random yell, Rory looks up startled only to find Willow up dancing – raising an eyebrow she watches as the younger girl sheepishly sits back down.

Glaring over at Rory she sticks her tongue out, “Party pooper.” Hearing Rory scoff she crawls over to her, dropping the controller along the way. “What? Don’t see yourself as a party pooper?” Willow ended up straddling the older girl and snatching the book away from her she tosses it across the room, “Because you have to be the biggest one I have ever met.”

Now it was Rory’s turn for a harsh gaze, dammit – she was at the favorite part of her book and Willow ever so carelessly threw it across the room. “Nope. Not a party pooper, I just don’t see the appeal of video games.” Holding in a giggle she watches the other’s face contort in shock.

No appeal of video games? Well, she’ll just have to change that opinion. “Alright, fine. We’ll make it appealing Miss Harper, for every level I win without dying you have to lose an article of clothing, and every time I lose I will discard one.” That’ll keep her nose out of the book at least.

“And why would I agree to such terms? I’m perfectly content right now – clothes on.”

“Oh come on Rory, It’ll be fun~ Please?” Willow pouted, face nearing the other gingers, “For me?” Rory sighed, resolve leaving her she agreed. Watching the screen closely she watched as Willow started a new profile, and so it begins: Level 1.

Almost ten rounds later and both girls found themselves scantily clad in more than their undergarments Rory shivered, “Now what smartass?” Willow grinned knowing that Rory would be cold and turning to her she kisses her deeply and wraps her arms tightly around Rory. Best videogame ever.

I Still Miss You (An ApolloKidFlash Drabble)

He took a deep breath, it had been over a month – over a month since they had actually spoken and it felt like there was a hole seated deep in his chest. Apollo couldn’t help but feel broken at the thought, the missions since they broke up had been tense, always afraid of stepping on the others toes they avoided each other like the plague - Apollo didn’t come to the cave unless he had to. Sitting on the empty park bench he glanced at all the lights of the carnival, leg bouncing impatiently – where could she be? Did he really delude himself into believing that she was coming? What a fool he was.

Running late Willow began to panic – what if he left? He had done brasher things, leaving now would just be icing on the cake of their relationship. Reaching the park she looks around and finds Apollo on a bench and breathes a sigh of relief, walking up to him she sits down. “Hi.” Glancing at him her heart sank, without the mask she noticed the large bags under his eyes which seemed to be duller than she remembered them being. “So…”

He looked up at her, what could he possibly say? “Hi.” What a great way to start a conversation he scoffed, “Oh, Kaleo is doing well.” Why bring up the dog? Was he really that stupid?

She nods, “I was wondering how he was doing.”

“You should stop by and see him sometime – I think he misses you” No, I miss you.

“Would your dad be okay with that? Rory said that he was pretty angry at the two of us breaking yours and Jay’s hearts.”

Apollo shrugged, trying to come up with a better reason, “Well, you know my dad is never home.” I miss you Willow, I miss you so much. Why is that so hard to say?

“Still” she starts, looking at him she sees he’s holding something back, “I don’t want to step on any toes. Apollo, is something bothering you?”

What? How could she have possibly seen that – “Of course not Willow,” his heart clenches “there is absolutely nothing wrong.” Imissyou. Imissyou. Imissyou.

“Oh, okay.” She looks at him again, “Apollo, I know I’ve asked you this before but, are you mad at me?”
“Mad at you? Why would I be mad at you?”

She looks down, because I’m a monster who ripped your heart out? “There’s something you’re not telling me, and being mad at me is the obvious choice there.”

“Nononononono. Sweet girl – it’s not your fault and I’m not mad at you in the slightest it’s just–” Don’t say it, don’t do it – it has to be the dumbest thing you’ve ever said. Gently reaching up he places his fingers beneath her chin and makes her look at him, “I miss you.” Leaning forward more he kisses her, so passionately that all his emotions are poured into it all of the hurt and love and despair and loneliness that one could ever feel.

Willow’s eyes widen as he kisses her, he still loved her? After all this time and all she put him though he still cares? Kissing back the little voice in the back of her head sighs and whispers I missed you too.

Looking for a Good Time (An ApolloRedArrow Drabble)

Girl you're beautiful, you're about near perfect. But I bet somebody's already told you that.

Apollo bit his lip, there’s no way she’d want to hear that after all that had happened. Walking up to her he smiles and wraps an arm around her waist and leaning in he whispers in her ear, “Hey Rory, you know you’re absolutely gorgeous – perfect even. I-I know you don’t want to talk about this after what happened between you and Jay but…” She looked away, clearly not interested in what he had to say.

Name your poison - name your passion, because a boy like me just couldn't help but ask.

He continued to watch her; she was so disinterested with everything now, almost lifeless. Pulling her back towards him, he looks into her deep blue eyes – “Come on now Rory, please. Don’t close yourself off like this, talk to me at least. So, what are you attracted to? What do you like to do?”

Keep on talking to me baby; I'm hanging on your every word.

There was no way that she could like him, what just happened between her and Jay- it wouldn’t be right to like him. But he was so sweet, so kind and she wanted to tell him. For whatever reason, she wanted to tell him everything.

Keep those drinks a coming maybe; we'll both get what we deserve.

The bartender passed down two more drinks – the two of them knew that they shouldn’t be doing this, that there was some reason that they couldn’t but it was slowly leaving their resolve and more willing to give in to what they both needed at this point. Comfort.

How about baby we make a promise, to not promise anything more than one night.

Looking at the blond unthinkingly she pulls him in and kisses him passionately, not caring that alarms were sounding the in back of her mind. All she wanted was someone to hold her, tell her it was okay and right now Apollo was more than willing to provide it.

Complicated situations only get worse in the morning light. Hey I'm just looking for a good time.

Apollo’s eyes widened, Rory was kissing him – out of nowhere she was kissing him. Having been so long since having the feeling of someone’s lips on his he kissed her back, not caring she was his brother’s ex-fiancée or his ex-girlfriends best friend she was there and she was kissing him and right now, that was all that mattered. Ushering the two of them towards the door to the run down bar he leads them back to her apartment.

Go ahead and lie to me and pull me close, tell me that you love me even if you don't.

Getting back to her apartment she wraps her arms tightly around him and pulled him into another kiss, she missed this – the feeling of someone holding her like this. Pulling away from the kiss she blurts out, “Apollo, I love you.”

The rule is don't you ever even talk about forever, but you never say never in life.

His eyes widen – Rory’s lying and they both know it, but somehow he doesn’t care – he hasn’t been touched like this and Rory knew what she was doing. Continuing with the kiss they find themselves in the spare bedroom and his eyes soften and he pulls away and looks at her – how could they do this? Rory wasn’t even willing to go into her own bedroom and the two of them were going to have sex?

How about baby we make a promise, to not promise anything more than one night.

Rory scowls at the look Apollo’s giving her – “Apollo, its one night. You’re lonely – I’m lonely. We’re just going to have sex, no strings attached. I know you want this as much as I do, now stop looking at me like that and just fuck me.” Maybe if she wasn’t as drunk or lonely she would feel bad, but right now – she wanted nothing more to feel his skin on hers and pulled him into another kiss.

Complicated situations only get worse in the morning light. Hey I'm just looking for a good time.

Apollo looked at her again, the light blush dusting her cheeks and the scowl on her face made him hot, whether he wanted to admit it or not and she was willing… They were both drunk though – come morning besides having the worst hangovers of their lives they were going to feel awful but as she kissed him again his morals left him and he kissed her back. Shoving her onto the bed he expected her to pull away, to blush as Willow did so many times before – but she didn’t she merely pulled his shirt up and continued on. He smirked – it was going to be a long night and he was going to enjoy every moment of it.

Hey I'm just looking for a good time.

Pity (A KidFlashRedArrow Drabble)

Willow looked at herself in the mirror again and scowled, Rory couldn’t possibly be right.  Her hair wasn’t fine – even with the other girl’s stringent protests to the contrary. Looking over at the bed she sees the older girl sprawled out and staring at the ceiling, realizing that she wasn’t paying attention Willow quickly scrambled to get her hair looking at least somewhat controlled she quickly lays on the bed next to her. “Rory, did you mean it when you said I was amazing?”

The older girl turned to look at her, was she serious? Looking at Willow in disbelief Rory says exasperated, “Yes Willow. I swear to god… Do I have to prove it to you?” The quick response in the affirmative was enough to make Rory wonder, her eyes travel across the slighter frame of the runner how was she going to convince Willow that she was amazing.

Biting her lip Willow dared a glance at Rory, expecting to be met with an angry if not furious face. Rory had problems with letting Willow accept that she was anything less than amazing, but in its place she saw a soft look. Looking down Willow almost scoffed- pity; Rory was pitying her. That would explain a lot… Letting her live there, always being kind, it was just to hide that she had no reason why she was so “amazing and beautiful and not a monster” sitting up she scowls at Rory. “You’re pitying me aren’t you?”

Rory looked as though Willow just slapped her, sitting up she looked at Willow seriously. “Willow, where the hell did you get that idea? No, I don’t pity you – you’re beautiful and intelligent and fantastic, what’s there to pity?” Walking up to the smaller girl she traps her between her arms and against the wall, and before Willow could utter another word Rory leaned in and kissed her deeply.

Willow’s eyes shot open as she felt the other ginger’s lips against her own, and without thinking she wrapped her arms around the taller girl’s neck and kissed back. She felt so helpless, so angry all the time and she poured that into the kiss, and for the first time in a long time, Willow didn’t feel alone.

Marry You (A CheshireRedArrow Drabble)

Nervously Jay waited, he knew that he was asking for it but it was the right thing to do – damn his morals. Walking into the store he looks at the lady behind the counter anxiously he quickly mutters his name to her she disappears to the back room to get his purchases. Looking around his foot taps impatiently against the floor, the rest of the jewelry was so expensive, he just hopes that Rory doesn’t mind that the ring was plain; the fact that she reassured him that it didn’t matter only made him worry more. No one could always be content like she is, never complaining about anything in their relationship, scratch that – anything besides them breaking up that is. Watching as the woman returns he notices that she looks almost disdainful and asks what the problem is. The woman can’t help but blush, caught in mid-thought she stammers out a half coherent sentence. It’s always the attractive ones that get taken early in life.  Gathering her thoughts she smiles and finally says, “Oh, I was just admiring this beautiful ring, this girl must be really special.” He smiles, that she is – and no matter what she told him, he’s the lucky one.

As she puts it in a case he grins and places it in his pocket, his confidence returning until he realizes what he decided he was going to do next. Walking across the mall he sees the small Italian restaurant that he agreed to meet her at and looked around and a feeling of panic began to grow in the pit of his stomach. Walking over he lightly clears his throat and waits for her to look up, and seeing a look of ‘just sit down’ he quickly takes a seat. Glancing up at the blonde woman he grimaces, how was it that she could be so intimidating and before he can say anything she cuts in, “I know why you’re here.” Well that was blunt. “I guess I should thank you for calling me to do this Jay.” he notices the slight grimace as she says his name. “I know that I haven’t been all that accepting of your relationship but I want you to know that I do respect you for what you’ve done.” She clears her throat uncomfortably and continues, “I know that you love her, hell you’re the only man in her life that’s ever stood up to me when it came to your relationship and it’s very much appreciated.” His eyes glance up from the table to the woman he assumed hated him and saw the admiration in her eyes. “So, go ahead and ask away.”

His eyes widen, she was giving him permission to- right, so before this graciousness ended. He clears his throat, nervousness returning “Right, well” he continues to stutter, this was going to be much harder than he thought and before he could continue the waitress came and interrupted his train of thought. Scowling his words left him, he absentmindedly ordered and zoned out as Olivia ordered, the two of them watched as she walked away. Stiffening he realizes that Olivia’s eyes were on him once again, it was now or never… “So, Miss Queen” his eyes now glancing up, searching her face to see if he’s offended her and slowly continues, “I called you here today to-” to tell you what you already know “to ask you for your daughter’s hand in marriage.”

Olivia sighed; she knew this was going to be difficult. Studying his face closely she notices hope and nervousness, causing her to smile and shakes her head slightly – he really did love her. Looking at him she relents “Yes you can marry her,” looking at him carefully she continues, “just promise me you’ll keep her safe.”

He smiles ecstatically, not expecting her approval would be given so freely. “T-thank you. Of course I will.”

She can’t help but smile at the look on his face, “Good.” She looks towards the door and smiling she waves. Turning around Jay’s eyes widen as he sees Rory and another blonde man walking up to the table. Getting up Olivia pulls who he can only assume is Danny into a hug, standing up he hugs Rory tightly more than glad at the recent turn of events. As the four of them sit at the table Olivia looks at Jay, “So, is there something that you want to ask Rory?”

He looks at the two blonds nervously before clearing his throat and gently grabs Rory’s hand, the other reaching for the ring concealed in his pocket. “Rory Harper,” he grins slightly “I know you’re probably tired of me asking you this but” placing the case on the table he opens the lid slowly “will you marry me?”

Rory’s eyes widen as he opens the small container and she smiles seeing the ring, “Yes, of course I’ll marry you.” Squeezing his hand gently she leans in and kisses him, not caring that Olivia and Danny were watching.

Pulling away Jay smiles, and with a shaking hand he places the ring on her finger. “I love you Rory.”

“I love you too.” Rory glances over at Olivia and smiles and looks down at the ring on her finger and kisses him again. “It’s perfect.”

He looks at her gently and smiles, “You’re sure; it’s not too small-”

She cuts him off by kissing him, “Jay, the ring's amazing."

Happy Anniversary (A CheshireRedArrow Drabble)

Biting her lip Rory smiles, maybe the baking lessons that Olivia had made her take for the last month were paying off. Peeking into the oven only makes her smile more as she sees her cake rise.  It had been six months since the two of them had gotten together, and every month on that day they did something small but this month she had to do something for him. Something special. Putting the ingredients into the mixer she began making homemade icing, biting the inside of her cheek she began to think about the past six months.

It was amazing… How was it that the two of them ended up together? They were opposites, and yet they were drawn to each other. He was so kind, so generous, so sweet, he was everything any woman would want and honestly she was so lucky to have him. The two of them had been through more in their six months than most go through in their entire lifetimes.

Reading the icing recipe for the hundredth time, Rory carefully added the next set of ingredients, hoping that she didn’t screw this up.  Hearing the timer sound on the oven she hurries over to the oven and pulls the cake out of the oven carefully and rests it on the countertop hoping for it to cool. Returning to the mixer she hears the door open and quickly pours the powdered sugar into the bowl.

Walking through the front door, Jay looks around, how is that she could always find the time to clean the entire house. Throwing his bag onto the sofa he walks into the kitchen and can’t hold in the peals of laughter that were all too ready to escape his mouth. There she was… Standing there covered in white powder. Walking over her he gently strokes her cheeks, dusting off that white powder to show her new fluorescent red cheeks. Gently kissing her forehead he smiles. “What were you trying to do Pinky?”

She bites her lip and looks down embarrassed. She couldn’t dare tell him that she attempted to bake a cake and have something as simple as the icing to explode like that. So before she could even think of what to do she reached her fingers into the bowl and smeared the white goo onto his nose and grinned at the confused look on his face.

Shocked he stared at her, what was on his nose? Reaching his own hand up he wipes off his nose and sees the white mush, what the hell? Looking behind Rory he notices the cake and his eyes widen, it was supposed to be icing, and the powdered sugar must have exploded all over her and the kitchen when she poured it into the mixer. Looking over at the counter he sees the bowl of cake batter and does the same to her, grinning brightly.

A giggle escapes her lips as he smears the chocolate batter across her face and grabbing the flour she tosses it at him, covering him in white too. By the end of the food fight the two of them stood in the kitchen covered in cake batter, icing, flour and powdered sugar. Wrapping her arms around his shoulders she pulls him into a kiss. Smiling gently she pulls away and rests her forehead against his, “I attempted to make a cake today.”

He chuckles, “Really? I thought you were having World War III with your kitchen appliances.” Looking around he surveyed the damage the two of them caused the kitchen, every single inch of that room was covered in white and brown, wow that sounded wrong… Icing and cake batter – that’s what he meant.

She grins, “Have I ever told you how much I love your sense of humor?”

“A few times,” he chuckles “so is there a reason that you decided to do this?”

Pulling him into another kiss she smiles, “Happy six month anniversary.”

His eyes widen, “Oh, Rory…” he smiles, “happy anniversary.”

Thunder and Lightning (An ApolloKidFlash Drabble)

Curling up under the dark safety of her bed Willow clutched her knees, curled up on her side she tried to calm herself. Thunder continued to roar through the cave and she continued to shake, memories of her childhood flashed through her mind with the lightning, still peeking in under her bed. Even after closing her eyes she couldn’t escape the harsh memories that continued to play, her father yelling no screaming at her, horrified at what she had become. She could see herself crying in her bedroom, scared that he would hurt her mother, the only thing good about this place.

Her heart pounded, thunder resounding through her room again, crashing off the walls, thoughts jerking to something more recent. Apollo – what had she done to him? Her hands clutching her ears, trying to drown out the noise of her thoughts, he loved her – he really did. Now she was alone, totally alone and she couldn’t help but shake, scared that she had made a mistake. She began to cry silently, unable to block out her environment and her own thoughts she feel into them… Surrendering to the pain that she had caused and her own fears, her heart sunk realizing too late that she loved him. Apollo, the one who was there for her from the beginning, the one who had given her everything that she could have ever wanted and the space she needed. Now, he’s gone.

Distraught Apollo tore into the cave; he got a call from Matt saying that he hadn’t seen Willow in about a day. Panic ran through his body, what if she hurt herself again? What if she went back home? He couldn’t deal with almost losing her again. He screamed her name, hoping to get some sort of response, the echo cancelling out the thunder now rolling away from the hidden base. No response. He knocked at Willow’s door and got no answer, trying the handle he realizes that it’s open. Bursting into the room he begins to search for any trace of her, after desperately checking for something to go off of, he collapses on the bed, inhaling her scent from the comforter. His Sweet Girl. Yes, he was angry – but not at her, he was angry at himself. For letting himself get hurt so badly, of course she couldn’t love him. It couldn’t have worked out anyway. In the silence of the room he heard a quiet whimpering, eyes widening he whispers her name.

Her eyes widen, Apollo? What was he doing here? She wanted to call out, let him know that she was here – lightning flashed through the room again, squeaking she curls up into a tight ball, hoping it stops soon. She knew something was wrong with him, he was acting strangely – rashly, and it was unusual. He was probably searching for something of his that he left in here. That was the logical explanation; maybe she still had a sweatshirt of his or… anything else. But before she could convince herself of this she heard him whisper her name. Biting her lip, it took all her willpower not to answer – he deserved better than her.

His head rose from the comforter of the bed, the smell still intoxicating him. Willow? He heard her, it had to be her. He said her name again, more forcefully this time, almost demanding that she come out and see him. He needed to tell her something. He needed to tell her that he loved-no loves her. Feeling the bed shake his eyes widen, peeking under the bed he sees her shaking form, wrapping his arms around her waist he gently tugs her into his arms. He kissed the top of her head, hoping to comfort the frightened girl, a pang rang through his heart, she was hurt and he did nothing to help her. Gently caressing her back he whispers sweet nothings in her ear, hoping to stop her from shaking.

Gasping she clutches his shirt, she was so weak…  Willow gasped, feeling the warmth of his body radiate into hers. Questioningly she said his name. She hurt him terribly, broke his heart into little tiny pieces, all over a guy who was over her now… Happy with someone else, she blinked, trying to hide the tears that were threating to fall. She wanted to say she was sorry, that her feelings for him were genuine but she couldn’t lie to him – not again.

So the two of them sat there in a silent embrace, thunder and lightning ruining the night. Unsure of the future but for right now, just being together, just comforting each other was enough. Their relationship didn’t matter, they simply needed someone to hold, someone to understand them and right now, who better to know them then each other?

Stealing Kisses and Romantic Comedies (A KidFlashRedArrow Drabble)

Willow was worried – even if Rory was in a bad mood or busy she would find the time to let Willow know that she was fine, be it a text or Facebook post. It had been a week and nothing, if she didn’t trust Jay as much as she did Willow would have suspected that he killed her. Finally making up her mind, Willow decides to make sure that Rory was okay – the worst that could happen is walking in on… Her eye twitches, maybe she’d call first – that was definitely something that she didn’t want to see. Picking up her phone she dials the number she’s had memorized for years, she less than patiently waits for Rory to pick up the phone – nothing. Willow weighs her options check to see if her best friend is alive and worry about seeing her have sex with her boyfriend or stay here and get those mental images out of her head.

Against her better judgment she decides to go, knocking on the door she receives no response. What to do now? She can’t just leave, if she didn’t check to make sure she’s alive what kind of friend would she be? Turning the doorknob she sees that it’s open and upon opening the door her eyes widen. The apartment was a mess, and there Rory was – sitting in front of the television, watching RENT. Her off-pitch squealing of singing to the songs resonated throughout the room, and before she can start bawling again Willow is at her side.

“Rory?! What happened? Why are you crying?”

The blue eyed girl addressed looked up sniffling. “I-It’s Jay, he left. Ra’s kidnapped me and told him that she would kill me if he didn’t go with her.” Her eyes start to water again. “I-I tried to get away and s-she threatened me the same way.”

Willow’s eyes widen with anger “Why didn’t you call me? I could have saved you!” Rory shakes her head furiously. “You were being tailed along with Apollo; if you made any movement towards me you would have been killed.”

Willow looks at the older girl, lost for words “Well, what happened when Jay showed up?”

“She told Jay that if he ever attempted to come near me again that she’d kill me in front of him and he-he agreed” Her body shook violently, the tears pouring from her eyes. “I love him Willow, and I can’t do this without him.”

Inwardly Willow scoffs, he broke Rory’s heart so many times she knew it was only a manner of time before the old wretch took him away for good. Willow grabs the box of tissues from the coffee table and wipes the tears from Rory’s eyes. “Rory, did you ever think that it’s for the best?” Seeing the scowl on Rory’s face she stops momentarily. “I-I mean, you could be with someone who didn’t have to deal with the Shadows.”

Rory mumbles, “Like who? No other guy has ever been as kind or understanding as him… They all cheated on me or used me…” She pauses for a second, her blue eyes reflecting on her past, “Usually a combination of the two.”

Willow’s green eyes look over the older girl’s form, clutching onto a pillow and in Jay’s clothes, which were three sizes too big – she was still beautiful. “Rory,” She cups the other girls face in her hands, “maybe the problem is that you’re looking for a guy.

Rory looks up a Willow confused, “Guy?” and before she could continue Rory finds that her lips are covered with Willow’s. Rory quickly jerks away, blush covering her face, “Willow! What are you doing?! What about Apollo-“but before she could continue her lips were covered again by Willow’s.

Willow pulls away lightly and shrugs, “It just didn’t work…” Her eyebrows raise. “Now will you shut up so I can kiss you?” Rory blushes gently and slowly kisses her lips.
So the two of them sat there, stealing kisses and watching sappy romantic comedies until the both fell asleep to the soft glow of the television.

No More Science (An ApolloKidFlash(Male!) Drabble)

Apollo looked at the redhead in front of him incredulously; how could someone eat so much food? It was a never-ending cycle; Wally would speak a few sentences jumbled with scientific jargon and then shove food in his mouth until he would decide he wanted to talk again. It was beginning to test his patience, along with the long words that were now dancing around in his head he had to deal with that loud munching noise that resonated around the small kitchen in the cave.

“Wally-“ The redhead continued chattering away, something about the Universal Gravitation theory making it difficult to find the exact mass of something outside the major gravitational something of something else. There was no point in listening anymore because he’d never understand anyway. Apollo raised his voice, “Wally!” There was still no acknowledgement of his presence.

Of course Wally noticed Apollo, he couldn’t help but internally grin at how aggravated Apollo was getting, it was more fun to annoy him that Artemis. Artemis would just roll her eyes and walk away, Apollo had the patience of a saint; he just stood there and listened to whatever he could come up with off the top of his head. Finally, realizing that if he didn’t say something to blond soon, he might find himself laid out on the floor he greeted the archer. Just a simple “Hey,” he then offered him a granola bar out of the box he almost finished.

Apollo declined, looking at the bar like Wally poisoned it. The redhead shrugged, grinning from ear to ear, he decided to test the patience of the older boy again – blabbering on about some newer hypothesis that had come up about The String Theory.

The blond scowled, the speedster was relentless – he hates science class and Wally couldn’t get enough, but he couldn’t seem to leave the younger boy alone. Finally, he decided; pulling the younger boy off the counter he pulls him into a kiss.

As he lets go of the back of the redhead’s neck Apollo growls, “No more science.”

Wally grins and throws his hands up, “And what do I get if I don’t?”

Apollo rolls his eyes and kisses the younger boy again. He was absolutely incorrigible.

Get it Right (An ApolloKidFlash Drabble)

What have I done? I wish I could run away from this ship going under.

She looked down at her hands, they were shaking uncontrollably; she did it again… She broke his heart, left him there broken and alone, after he admitted to her that he was still in love with her. She was a monster – in every meaning of the word and she couldn’t do anything about it

Just trying to help out everyone else; now I feel the weight of the world is on my shoulders.

It was ridiculous, she was a superhero. She should be able to handle these feelings, be able to realize that she was hurting him and yet here she was, oblivious to herself but willing to help everyone else out – Rory, Jay, M’att, Connie, all of them…

What can you do when your good isn't good enough and all that you touch tumbles down?

Her hands clutched her ears, trying to drown out her thoughts… He didn’t deserve her; he deserves someone so much better. She really tried though, tried to become the woman that he deserved… Looking back she wonders if she had done this or that differently if she’d still be in love with him.

Because my best intentions keep making a mess of things, I just want to fix it somehow; but how many times will it take? Oh how many times will it take for me to get it right?

It wouldn’t have mattered, she was a monster – it would have been useless. Their relationship had been destined to fail from the moment she agreed to go on a date with him. Yet, every time they met it was like they were drawn to each other and no matter how much she apologized it would never be alright, never be okay because she hurt him so badly.  Her nails dug into her knees. It could never work…

To get it right?

She was willing to try though and without a second thought she ran after him.

Can I start again with my faith shaken? Because I can't go back and undo this.

Grabbing a cup from the table he threw it at the wall glass shattering he groaned, it was so aggravating. Every time she left if was the same thing, this unbelievable anger that he could never place. He didn’t want to move on, he wants her and she wants nothing to do with him and he wants to know why.

I just have to stay and face my mistakes, but if I get stronger and wiser I'll get through this.

Seeing the broken cup he thinks back to Hong Kong, he was willing to lose everyone he ever cared about… People he didn’t even realize cared, Rory looked hurt and Jay, Jay was so disappointed but in himself as much as in his brother. His dad was so broken, both of his sons disappeared over Thanksgiving break without so much as a note and his youngest was willing to join the group that he had struggled to escape from for years. This family was built on second chances, the ability to learn from your mistakes and he was going to make good on his second chance, prove to them that he was happy.

What can you do when your good isn't good enough and all that you touch tumbles down?

Picking up the pieces he sighs, it was difficult. At times he wanted to say it was too difficult, that he shouldn’t have let himself be so open, so fragile to another. No matter what he did in their relationship never seemed to end well, she was hurt for so many years – by the person she should have been able to trust most and even when he found out, he didn’t do anything to help her.

Because my best intentions keep making a mess of things, I just want to fix it somehow; but how many times will it take? Oh how many times will it take for me to get it right?

He asked his brother to do it for him, and even then, Jay was hurt for his mistake. He never knew what to do, his sweet girl was hurt and alone and unwilling to let anyone else help her. Then he left, for something that he now realizes that he could never want, he could never want to be unfeeling and cold, not after having Jay and his dad explain to him what that means.

To get it right?

He had to tell her that he loved her, grabbing his phone he dials her number, hoping that she’ll pick up.

So I throw up my fist, throw a punch in the air and accept the truth that sometimes life isn't fair.

Tears cloud her eyes as she runs to Gotham, she didn’t know if this would work out but she was willing to try. How many chances does a girl get at a love like that one? One, if she’s lucky. Here she finds herself about to run out of those arms for the rest of her life – she couldn’t let that happen. Life wasn’t fair; it was cruel and wicked but if it was willing to give her a second chance with Apollo there was no way in hell she wasn’t taking it.

Yeah I sent out wish. Yeah I sent up a prayer. Then finally someone will see how much I care.

He was met with the beep of the answering machine, cursing he hangs up and tries again. Somehow hoping that she was just unaware that her phone rang, was she really mad at him now? Had he blown his last chance, it couldn’t be… Please god – whoever is out there, don’t let this be the end of the two of them, it couldn’t end in such a raw way.

What can you do when your good isn't good enough and all that you touch tumbles down?

Stumbling she reaches the apartment complex that she had become so familiar with. Taking the steps two at a time she rushes to the door of his home but stops before she can knock. What if he didn’t love her anymore? What if he decided to move on?

Because my best intentions keep making a mess of things I just want to fix it somehow; but how many times will it take? Oh how many times will it take?

There was still no answer, throwing on his jacket he decides to go look for her – what if she hurt herself again. He had to find her, tell her that he couldn’t let her go. Opening the door he crashes into something. Looking down he sees her, and before she can say one word he presses his lips to hers.

To get it right.

To get it right.

Burt Photos (A CheshireRedArrow Drabble)

Jay didn’t know how he found himself in this situation… He had just put away his jacket in the closet and saw something on the floor. It was a box, no larger than his hand tucked into a corner, he knew he shouldn’t have looked inside but as they say curiosity killed the cat. Sitting in the dimly lit closet he slowly opened the box; unceremoniously he threw the lid into the corner and peered inside. To his surprise it there were photos of Rory inside some of their edges were burnt others were torn and crinkled; she must have been 15 or 16 when they were taken.

Looking at them, if she wouldn’t have told him that she went through the rebellious phase he never would have recognized her; at parties, homecoming, prom, sleepovers, sporting events, no matter what it was she was seen in short-shorts or miniskirts with low-cut shirts and tube tops, the dresses were unbelievably short and she always managed to keep herself looking unmistakably bored. What really surprised him though were the guys she was with, he could recognize them all – future business heads, all extremely good looking and influential and yet, in not one of those photos did she look remotely happy.

Picking up the box he walked out to the living room and began spreading them out – again and again he noticed the same things, she had told him before that she was unhappy, but it was really unbelievable how honest she was really being, even when she was at the formal events with Olivia, only scowls could be seen on her face. He wanted to hug her, make her see that she was beautiful. The guys that were in the photos had a possessive grip on her, eyes looking at her as some prize and not as a human being.

Rory walked through the front door of the apartment after running off to get dinner, and throwing her coat off on a chair she glanced into the living room and saw Jay hunched over the couch looking at something. Walking over to where he sat she saws the photos she had overwhelmingly tried to hide, and grimaced. Gently greeting him, she noticed the look on his face as he turned to greet her.

Seeing her standing there he felt awful, he betrayed her trust and saw things from her past that were none of his business. He opened his mouth to speak but she sat next to him before he could and gently kissed his lips. Pulling away he looked at her, he had no idea what to say… Was she ever truly happy before? Did she ever have fun when she wasn’t forcing herself to? No, he’d have to start with something simple, “You know you’re beautiful right?”

She looked down and blushed; of course she did, now at least. She nodded, not trusting herself to respond verbally, looking down she saw the photos, these were the years she wanted to forget, the years that she was taken advantage of then thrown to the side.

He looked at her strangely, unsure how to continue, she looked hurt. Did she not want him to find these, no, it wasn’t like she was sad or hurt in that way, it was more of a reminiscing sadness. Reaching his hand out he grabbed hers, “You know,” he smiled and used her own words “you aren’t alone anymore; you don’t have to do this by yourself.”

She looked up at him and bites her lip, “It was awful…” looking down at the charred photos she scowls, “these guys were forced to date me… Olivia and their parents pushed us to do it, although they didn’t have any problem with it – three of them cheated on me… The other one only wanted to get in my pants.” He looked up at her, unable to believe someone could do that to her and gently kissing her cheek and rubbing her hand he ushering her continue. She sighs and looks down, “I was never happy… I was more or less miserable because it was nothing I ever wanted to be. And then… I met you, you were so aggravating. You were cocky and arrogant and so unbelievably brash and impulsive. And unlike any other guy I’d ever met.” She kisses his neck gently. “It was because of you I was actually happy, actually able to laugh without it being forced-”

Cutting her off before she could continue, he kissed her so deeply, he wanted her to know that she mattered, that her happiness mattered, and there weren’t enough words in the world to describe that to her.

Finals (A CheshireRedArrow Drabble)

Jay scowled at the notebook in front of him hoping it would somehow burst into flames. It was decided – finals were a bitch and nobody ever wants to study for them, so why did college have to make them worth so much more than every other test that year?! At least they gave him the week off from class to study for them… It was the last thing he wanted to do this morning, but for the first time in a long time Rory was up before him so he was stuck in the apartment studying for a class that he hated, why was he even doing this again? Growling he hops off the island and begins to pace, he could call someone from school – no, they’d be studying for finals, Apollo – no, he’s kind of in school. Irritation began pouring off of him; he wouldn’t be this worried about the stupid class if he didn’t need it to graduate.

Walking in through the front door Rory looks at Jay worriedly, he looked like a caged animal and he still had five days before his final, she sighed. This was not going to end well, for either of them. Walking over she gently wraps her arms around his shoulders and whispers in his ear the usual calming phrases that do the trick. As he turns around in her arms she smiles and pecks his lips, offering him a doughnut and some coffee she decides the smart thing to do would be to see if he needed help studying.

So that’s how it began, doughnuts and a huge box of coffee splayed across the coffee table, Jay’s notes tucked into Rory’s lap and she asked him again – what’s the kinematics equation solved for vf? He groaned, freaking two dimensional motion again? Alright, vf… He knew this one! vf2 = vi2 + 2aΔx. She looked at the notes again… Correct. He grinned victoriously, it was about damn time – watching as Rory stood up his hands gripped the arms of the seat in anticipation. Leaning over she gently pressed her lips to his, grinning he attempted to wrap his arms around her neck keeping her there and him distracted from his finals.

Rory grinned and pulled away from the kiss. Now, now Kitty that was only one formula – you still have thirty plus to memorize, gently grazing her lips over his neck she hops back over to her seat, giggling the whole way.

Puffing his cheeks out, he scowls. Fucking tease.

Something More Than Jealousy (A CheshireKidFlash Drabble)

He smirked, a cat and his prey; it was too easy – she always left herself so vulnerable. His eyes glanced over her; arms crossed and eyes narrowed – ready to attack him if he makes a wrong move. Biting his lip he slowly approaches her, “You know,” he circles around her stiff frame, “this would be the easiest way for the two of us to get what we want… You could make him jealous and I…” he looks her in the eyes, “I could get her to acknowledge my existence.”

“Why would I help you?” She spat, disgusted by his proposition. They were supposed to annoy Apollo, not make him want to barf. Plus she couldn’t do that to Rory. Even if she wouldn’t admit it to herself, she knew that deep down, maybe way deep down Rory really did like him. She glanced over at Cheshire – he was extremely attractive though… more defined than Apollo; probably due to age. Plus that damn grin, that well named Cheshire grin; when it spread across his face she couldn’t help but blush.

His face nears hers, “Easy, because you have something to gain. Plus, what’s life without a little fun?” His gaze flickers towards the door, that text that he sent both Apollo and Rory must have worked, and without a second thought he presses his lips to hers.

Willow’s eyes widen in surprise, what is he doing? She tries to push him away, but is drawn into the kiss and can’t help but kiss back. Her head spins, why did this feel so good, she liked Apollo – she wanted to make him jealous, and yet here she was kissing his brother. The blonde furiously stormed across the room and ripped the two of them apart.

What in the hell do you think you’re doing?” He snarled, pushing his brother away from Willow.

Cheshire grinned, “I was just kissing my girlfriend” lazily, Jay draped an arm across Willow’s shoulders and placed a kiss on her cheek, “Problem Paulie?”

Willow blushed at the nonchalance in the older man’s voice; what made it worse is that she couldn’t place this feeling in the pit of her stomach. Through gritted teeth, Apollo stormed away, grabbing Rory’s hand he dragged the shell-shocked redhead out of the room.

As they leave he couldn’t help but grin, he got everything he wanted – a jealous Rory and Apollo and the now blushing speedster all to himself, leaning in he kisses her again. Maybe he’d give up on Rory; this seemed like much more fun.

Ticklish (A CheshireRedArrow Drabble)

Jay grinned, crawling closer to his girlfriend who was more or less ignoring him for some ridiculous romantic comedy. Saying her name and getting no response he rolled his eyes and pouted, his dear Pinky couldn’t care less that he had ditched class today to be with her. Well, maybe he’d have to show her that he was better than some movie that was making her cry, but how to do it? Continuing to crawl towards her his eyes widen in realization and quietly he places a kiss on her cheek, getting her attention he pulls her into a deep kiss his hands gently resting at her sides. Getting her full attention he grins wickedly and begins to tickle her sides, pulling away from the kiss he can’t help but smile at how her face changes, now a ridiculous grin and blush covering her face.

Giggling and squealing she tried to escape his grasp, becoming more and more breathless as each second passed. Her legs gently trying to push him away, she never should have let him know that she was so ticklish; it was going to be the death of her and she knew it. Attempting to regain control of her limbs she tried to push him away, her face now aching from smiling so much, deciding that if she couldn’t get him to stop she’d have to beg.

Snickering he looked at her now shining blue eyes and flushed face, amused at her attempts to push him away. She was going to have to do better than that, his hands drifting to her stomach he began to tickle her more harshly, enjoying the sounds that came from her lips. His grin only spread as he heard her start to beg for him to stop, there was no way that he was going to let her forget this any time soon. Jokingly he couldn’t help but egg her on, what? He couldn’t hear her.

Whining she tried to pull herself away realizing that he was playing with her, there was no way that she was going to let him win. She had some pride left and letting Jay know that won wasn’t going to happen. His tickling resuming she couldn’t help but want to cave, her attempts to push him away weren’t working. Biting her lip she pleaded with him again – anything, she’d do anything if he’d just stop.

Brightly smiling his hands retreated from the toned canvas of her stomach. Anything? He was going to have fun with this. His lips ghosting over hers, he chuckled, at least he had her full attention now, he gently kissed her still amused at the color of her face and the fast pace of her chest falling and rising. Pulling away he smiles gently, this was why he was willing to do everything he did; nuzzling his face into her neck he kisses her gently there.

Her face blazed a bright red. The ass, he’s the only person on the face of the earth able to make her do that. Lacing her fingers in his hair she sighed, hoping to regulate her breathing she took deep breaths, her sides and face ached, laughing was more of a work out then actual patrol, gently running her fingers through his hair she sighed, more content now than ever before.

That was until their front door opened and Olivia stood there, Christmas gifts in hand. Her eyes glancing over the scene the two of them quickly scrambled apart. Well, there went that peaceful December afternoon.
